Lisa Marie, MA LCPC is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Lisa’s clinical experience includes practicum/internship with Rush Behavioral Health at Northwest Community Hospital Youth Treatment Center in Arlington Heights, IL. She was hired at Family Service for Community Mental Health as a Substance Abuse Therapist in 2006 where she worked with Adolescents with Substance Abuse issues. In 2008, Lisa transferred to the Integrated Co-occurring Therapy team, which worked with Adolescents and their families with high risk Substance Abuse and Mental Health issues. In 2012, Lisa worked at Gateway Foundation in the Admissions Department for 8 months and then transferred to Pioneer Center for Human Services where she was a Dual Diagnosis Outpatient Therapist. In 2013, Pioneer Center promoted Lisa as the Mentor Coordinator, where she managed a large team of Therapeutic Mentors. In 2014, she was promoted again to Prevention Coordinator, where she oversaw 5 prevention programs: Therapeutic Mentoring, Family Resource Developer, School-based Prevention, Teenage Mother Initiative and Day Reporting Center. Lisa provided staff with clinical supervision, collaborated with clinicians, community organizations and continues to sit on several community meetings/coalitions. Lisa is currently on the McHenry County Substance Abuse Coalition, where is the Secretary of the Executive Team, Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Coalition and Harvard Community Prevention Coalition.
Lisa decided to become an Independent Contractor in Private Practice at Innovative Psychology Counseling Services, Inc. in October 2016. She has developed a large tool chest of skills used to empower those she works with. These tools allow her to accurately perceive and quickly understand clients’ experiences while assisting them and their families in creating and developing lasting change in their lives. During therapy, we will utilize a variety of different methods based on how the client presents. Professionally, these methods are known as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
Lisa provides a non-judgmental, open setting to discuss any challenges you or your family are facing. Her approach to therapy revolves around “YOU” as the client. She focuses on building a therapeutic alliance and collaborative approach, which consists of working as a team with clients to pursue their goals. Lisa has developed a large tool chest of skills used to empower those she works with. These tools allow her to accurately perceive and quickly understand clients’ experiences while assisting them and their families in creating and developing lasting change in their lives.
